During 30 years as a board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Kris Reddy, a highly honored West Palm Beach cosmetic surgeon in Palm Beach County, Florida, has achieved plastic surgery excellence with a personal touch.

Dr. Reddy, a West Palm Beach pediatric plastic surgery expert and Plastic Surgeon, has the rare double honor of being a Fellow of American and International College of Surgeons, the only cosmetic surgeon in Palm Beach County, Florida to hold both of these prestigious honors.

While pediatric plastic surgery encompasses a number of procedures, Dr. Reddy focuses his talents with children on Otoplasty (ear surgery) and Rhinoplasty (nose surgery).

Prominent protruding ears can look unnatural. By three to four years of age children begin to recognize the difference in their ears form that of their peers. However, it is not until six to ten years of age that caustic remarks begin to leave psychological scars. Usually children are born with prominent ears and often it is inherited. Through a minor procedure the ears can be set back to a natural position. There is a very little discomfort and children can resume a fairly normal schedule within a week. It is best to undergo thr procedure around six years of age or older. At this age the ear has achieved at least 90% of its adult size and children seem to be more compliant with the treatment. Most importantly, the intervention is early enough to prevent the damaging effects of cruel psychological remarks.

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) can be performed to meet aesthetic goals or for reconstructive purposes-to correct birth defects or breathing problems. Age may also be a consideration. Many surgeons prefer not to operate on teenagers until after they've completed their growth spurt-around 14 or 15 for girls, a bit later for boys. It's important to consider teenagers' social and emotional adjustment, too, and to make sure it's what they, and not their parents, really want.

For selected patients who do not have the means to pay, Dr. Reddy will conduct the procedures on children pro bono. This service is part of the Palm Beach County Medical Society Project Access Program.

Our ability to perform this public service is dependent on the generosity of a number of professionals including anesthesiologists, physician assistants, and nurses. We would welcome any professional who would wish to assist us in our mission.

Dr. Kris Reddy specializes on minimally invasive procedures of the face, breast and body both through cosmetic surgery and nonsurgical treatments. Our center has an on-site AAAASF Nationally Accredited Operating Facility. Dr. Reddy was the first board certified plastic surgeon to operate in an on-going basis in such a facility in Palm Beach county. The AAAASF Nationally Accredited Operating Facility maintains the safety standards of a hospital, but provides patients a more cost effective and private alternative.

The most accurate assessment of a board certified plastic surgeon is from the plastic surgery societies and state Department of Health. We would recommend that you ensure that your surgeon of choice is board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of Amerian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is in good standing with the state Department of Heath. More experienced surgeons will also be either Fellow of American College of Surgeons and/or Fellow of International College of Surgeons. Dr. Reddy has these credentials.
