For over 30 years, Dr. Kris Reddy FACS FICS has developed extensive expertise in aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures as a West Palm Beach plastic surgeon and cosmetic surgeon. With SmartLipo, a hollow, pen-sized instrument called a cannula is inserted into a minor incision made by the surgeon. The cannula uses a small laser to liquefy the fat cells an area and drain them away. As the laser liquefies fat cells, the laser will simultaneously coagulate small blood vessels, preventing bleeding and swelling. A hollow cannula is also used to suction out the fat cells. Depending on the patient's health profile and goals, anesthesia to be utilized can vary from local to iv sedation to general. The SmartLipo procedure can be done by itself or in combination with the traditional liposuction procedure.

Target Groups:

Patients who have had a liposuction and need one or more isolated areas improved in a cost effective and convenient manner.

Patients who are younger and more active who desire to avoid the downtime of a traditional liposuction.

Patients who seek natural looking results from a local anesthesia procedure.

Limitations:

Not a replacement for traditional liposuction.

We would recommend that you ensure that your surgeon of choice is board certified by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of Amerian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is in good standing with the state Department of Heath.
