Dr. Kris Reddy FACS: Expert in Breast Reduction in West Palm Beach
Although our society places a premium on voluptuous figures, women who have large breasts tell you that bigger is not always better. Breast reduction offers relief from back, neck and shoulder pain, painful bra strap grooves, skin irritation and/or unwanted attention. Moreover, women who have the surgery gain the added convenience to select from a greater selection of clothing, and participate in many more physical activities. With smaller breasts in proportion to your body, you may also find you feel more self-confident, more active and eager to try new things.
Dr. Kris Reddy FACS, board certified plastic surgeon, is a West Palm Beach Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammaplasty) expert. Dr. Reddy has the rare honor of being a Fellow of American and International College of Surgeons, the only board certified plastic surgeon to hold both of these honors. Dr. Reddy is also a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. Dr. Kris Reddy continually receives high patient ratings and excellent reviews from Palm Beach breast reduction patients.
Breast reduction, also called reduction mammaplasty, enhances your overall appearance by making your breasts more proportional to the rest of your body.
Breast reduction is often performed on women in their thirties and beyond, but it can be a good choice for younger women who are uncomfortable with their figure as well. It's also a popular procedure for weight loss patients.
The Basics – West Palm Beach Breast Reduction
Dr. Reddy can tailor your breast reduction surgical plan to meet your needs and objectives. Some women who need a minimal reduction may have incisions around the areola only, allowing Dr. Reddy to remove a small amount skin and tissue. A commonly performed breast reduction uses incisions that encircle the areola and then extend vertically down the breast and horizontally along the crease underneath the breast. There are other breast reduction techniques that may eliminate the horizontal incision, the vertical incision, or both. The use of any particular pattern of incisions depends on individual patient factors and the recommendation of Dr. Reddy, a West Palm Beach Breast Reduction expert.
Breast reduction can be combined with other plastic surgery procedures. People who have lost a significant amount of weight often choose to have an arm lift at the same time. Others make breast reduction part of their mommy makeover surgical plan to rejuvenate their figures after pregnancy.
Your Breast Reduction Procedure, Your New Look
Dr. Reddy performs breast reduction as an outpatient procedure at the West Palm Beach Plastic Surgery Center, Dr. Reddy's AAAASF nationally accredited operating center utilizing MD Anesthesiologists providing general anesthesia. Dr. Reddy takes two to three hours to perform breast reduction surgery at West Palm Beach Plastic Surgery Center. You'll return home the same day in a soft bandage and comfortable and soft surgical bra to wear for 1- 2 weeks, and with oral pain relievers to take for a few days as needed. The only time you should take the bra off is when you shower. You'll experience some bruising around the breasts and some swelling of the breasts and sometimes the abdomen. Discomfort is usually mild and is easily controlled with pain medication. You may sleep in any position that is comfortable except on your stomach. Most importantly, you should take it easy and avoid lifting anything heavy for at least a week.
You can expect to feel tired and sore for several days as your breasts heal, and you'll be instructed to rest as much as possible. You can gradually add activities back into your routine starting in about a week, returning to work in about two weeks.

Cost of Breast Reduction in West Palm Beach
The cost of a breast reduction for less than 500 grams can depend on many factors. The first typical cost of a breast lift is anesthesia. Anesthesia is provided by an MD Anesthesiologist who has a long term relationship with the practice, and is based on the time expended on the case. Typically, the cost is $1500 to $2000. The second cost of breast reduction is a facility fee which generally ranges from $2000-$3000 if performed in our nationally accredited surgery center. In some cases, the surgery may need to be performed in a hospital. The hospital fee will vary based on your insurance. The last cost of the breast reduction is the surgeon's fee, which can range from $2000-$4500.
Depending on your insurance, some of these costs may be offset.
