In 30 plus years in practice, Dr. Reddy has consistently produced the finest aesthetic results resulting in a natural look. The basis of his work is to follow good medicine. However, Dr. Reddy and staff have seen the results of many common mistakes and traps that plastic surgery patients face. We would caution you not to make one of the following mistakes or fall into one of the following traps: 1) Having an inexperienced or improperly trained individual perform a procedure? A few years ago, a national medspa with a location in Boca Raton wanted Dr. Reddy to become their medical director. I went down on Dr. Reddy's behalf and met with the physician assistant that was performing treatments. She was performing Botox and laser after a weekend course. The risks are too great in such cases. Improper Botox injection can lead to drooping eyelids, asymmetry of the face, and/or partial (although usually temporary) paralysis of muscles that should not have been injected. Improper Laser techniques can lead to burns, etc. We quickly ran from that situation. We frequently consult patients who were unfortunately treated by non-board certified plastic surgeons either here or abroad. It is best to have an aesthetic procedure (either surgical or nonsurgical) with a board certified plastic surgeon who is a member of American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. According to the respective society websites, there are 6 board certified plastic surgeons in West Palm Beach. 5 of whom are American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery members. 2) Surgeons taking shortcuts. For example, local anesthesia or iv sedation has its place and can be generally less traumatic for some smaller face cases. However, local anesthesia and iv sedation is being used by some surgeons to save money in large liposuction cases. In these cases, the results will not be as good (as you generally can not remove the proper amount), the patients undergo a more difficult healing process, and it is an unnecessary health risk. You should be properly informed of the surgery and how it will be performed. 3) Patients not informing surgeons of prescription or recreational drug use. Patients who are abusing prescription or recreational drugs are more susceptible to an adverse reaction to anesthesia. A subgroup of this trap are patients who try to utilize a surgeon to obtain prescription medicine. This is a prevalent problem and needs to be controlled by the surgeon. Unfortunately, this type of patients often becomes angered when the surgeon stops their access to medication. They lash out at the surgeon despite having the patient's best interests at heart. 4) While Dr. Reddy is continually improving surgical and nonsurgical techniques as technology, equipment, and experience, Dr. Reddy unfortunately has seen too many patients who are seeking Dr. Reddy to correct or revise a patient who have been convinced to try the latest fad or ineffective treatment by being promised miraculous results with easier healing at lower costs. Liquid facelifts, contour threadlifts, mesotherapy etc. generally fall in this category. Even potentially more useful procedures such as Fraxel and SmartLipo are often overpromised on what they should be used for. Unfortunately, it is often more difficult or even impossible to correct a mistake from an inappropriate procedure. The most accurate assessment of a board certified plastic surgeon is from the plastic surgery societies and state Department of Health. We would recommend that you ensure that your surgeon of choice is board certified by the  American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a member of Amerian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is in good standing with the state Department of Heath.  More experienced surgeons will also be either Fellow of American College of Surgeons and/or Fellow of International College of Surgeons.  Dr. Reddy has all these credentials.
