During the liposuction surgery, Dr. Reddy uses a medical device known as a "cannula."  to break up and remove fat. This long surgical wand is able to separate fat from adjacent tissue and suction it out. The duration of your liposuction surgery  varies depending on the amount to be removed, the number of area to liposuction, and the quality of the fat tissue. Typically, the surgery is between 2 to 4 hours.

After liposuction surgery, you will be wearing a compression garment, which should be worn day and night for the first week then daily for 3-4 weeks to reduce swelling and ensure proper healing. Most patients experience moderate discomfort, especially in the second 24 hours after surgery when the anesthesia wears off. This is usually relieved with prescription pain medicine. You can return to non-strenuous work 1-2 weeks after liposuction surgery depending on the number of areas treated.
