Frequently Asked Questions about Juvederm
Question: How do you limit bruising with fillers?
Answer: Medications to avoid 7 days before treatment include aspirin, exedrin, ibuprofren (Motrin, Aleve, Advil), St. John's Wart, Omega 3 fatty acids, Vitamin E & Ginseng to name a few. If you need pain medication, tylenol is generally fine to have. Also, minimize drinking 1 - 2 for the week before injections. Try eating pineapple 2-3 times for 1-2 days prior to injections. Take Arnica Montana per Dr. Reddy's recommendations. Dr. Reddy may also have other recommendations specific to you and the scope of treatment.

Question: What does Juvederm Do?
Answer: Juvederm helps replace the hyaluronic acid your skin has lost due to natural causes such as aging and sun damage to add lost volume and help smooth away facial wrinkles and folds with a smooth gel filler.

Question: How long do the results from Juvederm last?
Answer: Juvederm is the only FDA approved dermal filler to last approximately 6 months with brilliant results in only one treatment.

Question: Are Juvederm injections painful?
Answer: We offer Juvederm with lidocaine to make your dermal filler experience more comfortable during and after your treatment.

Question: Are there any side effects associated with juvederm dermal filler injections
Answer: Side effects from Juvederm can include redness, swelling, and discoloration at the injection site. These side effects are temporary.

Question: What Areas can I use Juvederm
Answer: Juvederm injects can make a significant visual difference in the nasolabial folds of the mouth, vertical lip lines, marionette lines, and chin wrinkles.

Question: What is hyaluronic acid?
Answer: Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring polysaccharide (carbohydrate) hyaluronic acid in the human body. Present in large amounts in spaces between skin cells, hyaluronic acid provides moisture, plumpness, firmness, and suppleness to the skin. The ability to produce new hyaluronic acid decreases with age. Hyaluronic acid is a powerful moisture-binding ingredient. Hyaluronic acid may also repair collagen, improve the appearance of scars, and reverse free radical damage. Hyaluronic acid is one ingredient that works across the board. Every skin type, even oily, can benefit.

Question: I had one syringe of juvederm but it didn't seem to last. Why?
Answer: The most common reason why you may feel this way is that you may not have received enough juvederm in the first place. This can happen when a patient is focused on a particular spot and insists on only treating that area. Once treated our brains quickly forget that spot and our eyes focus on other areas.
Another reason you may feel this way is because fillers create some swelling and often patients become accustomed to their fuller appearance. Once the swelling goes away some may feel like the product is completely gone. In the flattened image of a mirror we might not appreciate the volume that is still there.
There may also be too much facial laxity for fillers to make enough of a difference. While juvederm may lessen the depths of some folds, a sagging face will still have wrinkles. In this case a facelift would be your best first step and then fillers work well to finish off those areas that still need a little help.
And last, as we experience the elation of feeling better about our looks, our expectations change. We quickly forget where we started and no longer tolerate lines that might have gone unnoticed when we didn't have to live with them.
Each injector has his or her approach to the changing expectations. Dr. Reddy prefers to start patients (especially new patients) with one to two syringes of juvederm. Then, he may inject an additional syringe or syringe(s) of juvederm in the future to meet the patient's evolving expectations. In this way, Dr. Reddy ensures a patient is not over injected initially and achieves natural looking results that fulfill a patient's goals. Dr. Reddy does charge per filler.
Dr. Reddy cares for South Florida dermal fillers patients including West Palm Beach juvederm, Palm Beach juvederm, Wellington juvederm, Palm Beach Gardens juvederm, Boca Raton juvederm. Boynton Beach juvederm, and Delray Beach juvederm patients.
